 Satdharma Community Gathering
With the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Mr. Patrick Sweeney
In an historic gathering on May 29, 2005, the Satdharma Community welcomed and honored Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Mr. Richard Reoch, the President of Shambhala.
Amidst an air of joy and friendship, Mr. Reoch read a Letter of Agreement that details a new rapprochement between the leadership of the Shambhala and Satdharma Mandalas. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Patrick Sweeney made ceremonial offerings to the lineage and each other. The gathering was concluded with a reception at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Sweeney.

 Patrick Sweeney teaches at the San Francisco Shambhala Center
The weekend of November 3rd, 2006, Patrick Sweeney was graciously hosted by the Shambhala Center of San Francisco. He taught on the text Space, Time and Energy by the Vajra Regent Ösel Tendzin. This was the first time that Mr. Sweeney had been formally invited to teach at a Shambhala Center, and everyone involved felt the openness, warmth and generosity that pervaded the teaching environment. |

 Fred Williams
November 19, 1932 - October 6, 2005
After a long battle with emphysema our friend and vajra brother Fred Williams has died. His last weeks were spent in retreat at his home in Ojai, California surrounded by friends, family and the sangha. Mr. Sweeney led Fred and the sangha in daily practice at Fred's house and the Ojai Valley Dharma Center to create the proper environment for Fred's transition. To the very end, Fred maintained the profound view of dharma and practiced with all of his strength. His courage, devotion and generosity were an inspiration to everyone. May he pass without obstacle to the next phase of his journey.
